Advice needed please . . . how easy, complicated, not a good idea, blah, blah blah would it be to remove the mud guards and tank from my Dragstar for respraying, not by me I might add? My hubby knows a guy who has always fiddled with bikes so there could be an option for the two of them, one with knowledge and experience and one without to tackle this, but . . . .
The thing is I know two different people who would do an excellent respray job, but in both cases I must take the dismantled parts to them. If that looks unlikely to be a good idea, then I will have to just bite the bullet and take it to someone who will take on the whole task.
I await your advice and recommendations . . . :sc: :sc: :sc:

:sus: if its a 650 and depending on year , mainly cosmetic changes, then procedure should be straight forward...... :jawdrop:
1. unscrew the 3 allen bolt around speedo.
2. lift speedo section up & undo speedo & wire plugs
3. 1 bolt each side at rear of tank. Undo these
4. lift rear of tank then slide towards rear of bike on angle.
5. once feel it slide up then lift the front upwards & forward.

MAKE SURE U TURN FUEL OFF & REMOVE HOSE FROM FUEL TAP B4 HAND...
hope this helps and good luck :2cool:

Hi

Do it yourself between you and ur hubby. To be honest its not a difficult job and it saves a few pennies. You never know it may give you the confidence to try other bits and bobs.

If you got stuck im sure there are enough people here(myself included that would help you out)
