Charity scooter run for Afghan Heroes

This will be some time over the next few weeks probably early July. Likely to be a weekend. Date to be finalised soon. The idea is to ride from Gloucester to Chepstow and back. All in aid of Afghan Heroes. £5 per scooter. Max 125cc. Also people are encouraged to get sponsored too.

Not sure of the exact route, this is open to discussion. Posibly Start at Westgate, down the A48 to Chepstow. Then either accross the bridge (via the footpath or in a van) and back along the A38 to Westgate (or Glosbikespecialists for repairs! ) If we are not going over the bridge it might be return via Tintern and the forest.

It will certainly be a challenge for some of us.

Please post below if you want to join me on the event.

Les.

Firstly let me say thanks so much for choosing the Afghan Heroes as your charity. I really appreciate that together with all the support I get from you all.

The Upton route sounds better to me, allbeit that I am only a useless blonde female!!!   The Chepstow Triange is a good route but I agree with what Plaz says about how long it will take also dont forget that legally you cannot ride anything under 125 on a motorway and certainly not able to use either of the bridges.

If anyone wants sponsorship forms let me know I do have some available.

Thanks again

xx

OK, I am happy with the Eastnor route too. Although I don't know that route so won't be able to lead.

Anne can I have a sponsor form once we have agreed the details. Cheers.

Les.

Hi Jo,

don't know exactly how long. I think we will be out for most of the day, with a lovely stop for lunch. It would be great if you could join us. Keep watching this forum as we sort out the details soon. Also make sure you give us your opinions too.

Les.

Damn! I let an 80's Suzuki thing go on ebay yesterday..... only £60 too! There's a nice Honda Camino on there at the mo.... might have to have a good look at GBS stock next time I'm there.

Count me in if I can find a set of wheels!

Is this run open to J4R members only or are we going to include others also?

My thoughts are that we should keep to J4R and close friends. Given the support for Afghan Heroes we could find it getting to big to handle. It could be a trial run for something a bit larger next year. :-D

What do others think?

Les.
