Just got back from testing out the scooter which Superman will be riding up the hill at Prescott Bike Festival. It was a laugh, me on Jules' scooter and Strongbow on his loaned electric scooter. We went up Ermin way to Birdlip as the hill is steeper and longer than the one at Prescott.

It was an interesting experience. The bike slowed down to 10mph on the speedo, but I am sure it was less. Rob stayed behind me all the way up. At one point I noticed that he was getting further and further behind me. I had to stop to let him catch me up. Then we started off again and he over took me, until the final steep bit when I took the lead for the final slope. (Rob said that his electric scooter was so slow because he was trying to stay behind me and his bike lost momentum. ;) ) Laughed most of the way up to the top.

Any way I could not keep up with the king of the corners on the way down, which was via Buckholt Road and Prestwick Road. (A46) We even managed to beat the cars through the bends, which was fun.

The good news is that the scooter should get Superman up the hill. Going to go for the hill climb record. Slowest up the hill that is.

Watch out for number 77.

Les.

Cheers mate, it was a great day and I really enjoyed going up the hill. Thought I did it quite well too. The day was a great success and next year is already booked, so keep 15th April free in your diaries for PBF 2.

Apart from a few glitches the running of the event went well. I was proud to be part of it, even if it was Facilities Management. (Bins and toilets. lol) and a bit of traffic control.

Thanks to all of you who visited and supported the event. It's nice to know you all had a good time.

Les.

Hi, great day had by all and thankyou for coming. I`ll mention food outlets at debreif but unfortunetly the catering vans were all organised by the Bugati Owners Club. They have agreed franchises. =I dont think they expected ther to be so many people.
Big thanks go to the A team of Rob, Les and Jules.
Also congratulations to Les,( sorry I mean Superman!) for riding the hill. Hope you`ll all come next year on April 15th?

Well done to all involved in the organisation! Everyone I spoke to during and after the event said that they enjoyed the day, yeah, there were a few issues with the catering but to be fair, it's the first one so it was to be expected. I hope the organising group managed to raise a decent amount for the cause.

It was great to see so many friends out and about too.

Hi

Really great day for everyone concerned, well done to Di (Boss), Les and Jules. There were a few probs I heard about but hey thats bound to be the case on the first time. The secret is to take on board those problems and learn from them.

Really nice to see everyone and I do appologise to C-cam for not gettin on the stand as planned due to helping the traffic guys who had no breaks  . Also I appologise if we didnt spend much time with everyone as you can imagine we were quite busy on the day ;) .

Heres to next year hopefully my bike will be ok for it  . A big well done to superman (Jev) and hope your ok James after your little spill  .

Regards Strongbow

Had a great day, thanks to all the organisers, helpers and anyone involved who set up the day we will be asking to return next year for sure with a stand again but i doubt they will let me back on the hill climb again     or they might ask me at least for the entertainment value i bought lol

Great job Les on the hill climb

I must admit i did feel a little bit like Stoner when i crashed i had to lift the bloody bike up on my own while everyone watched ;) ;) ;)

Cracking day, beautiful weather & great company.
Can't get over how successful it was & would love to know how much it raised for the severn freewheelers 8-) something I'm sure Strongy will let us know in due course ;)
Can't really fault how the event was run, just hope next time theres a few more refreshment stands    .
Some fantastic stands & displays to browse around & a few bargains to be had :)
Really enjoyed "running the hill" although my first run I was a bit hesitant when it dawned on me just how narrow the hill climb really is when doing some speed   second run I took Ros up aswell which she enjoyed too ;)
Already looking forward to the next one, if it goes half as well as the last one it'll be fantastic 8-)

Oh & a big thanks to the traffic & litter volunteers because without them it would've been absolute chaos

Let me know of any comments that you think can be improved on for next year. All the team leaders are going for a debrief soon so I`ll pass on any comments you care to make.
We raised, wait for it £45,000 !!!!!
Have been told that the organisers and chairman of Bugati Owners Club say that PBF has been the most sucessful event EVER held there.

Wow! Good news indeed Di. Roll on PBF2 (particularly if the weather is that good again!)
