Too pricey for me but not a bad looker 8-)
Ducati's new streetfighter will look to take on nakeds such as Triumph's best-selling Speed Triple when it is released in November of this year, with an expected sub £10,000 price tag to match  .

Details released so far reveal a user-friendly feel for the smaller capacity streetfighter, with a revised 848 Testastretta 11° engine (as in the current 848 Evo), Ducati Traction Control, reworked chassis and better ergonomics.

Colour choices include traditional red, eye-catching yellow and a matte-black version

I'd like to see that up close. My first impression is that it looks like a good effort for a factory produced "fighter".

I like Ducati's for looks and deep exhaust sounds but hate there build quality and dry running clutch ( noisy buggers ), hopefully though we will have the 749 promo bike up and running soon so a noisy ratterling red thing will soon be running the streets of Gloucester :)

They have improved, but they are not an everyday bike and until then after my Annus Horribillis with a 996 I wont be tasting Ducati Ding Dong until we get 50k engine life, not a working mans bike maker.

Yep, I know where you're coming from. Prices of spares and servicing mount up for "everyday" rides are bad enough and that along with ever more stringent anti motorcycle legislation is what is killing the lifestyle. You only have to look around you at a bike meet to see the average age of riders increasing. It was all so different "back in the day"..........

I'm starting to sound like the old man I really am so I'll shut up now!

lol yeah, the thing that I would say worries me but it doesnt really is the born again chit, I went out t'other day with a dude who said beforehand and we had never met before his demon was a beast and he could only get 28mpg out of his when riding hard...............now i ride a storm and that is some boast to get 28 out of a modern day 4cyl bike, we rode a 300 mile day to aberystwyth and back and some more tagged on, I found out that he had only just joined the bike fraternity during our midway chat and I was amazed he had bought a HYABUSA as a first bike  he rode it like a 125cc piss pot and had skills to match, he wobbled round corners, I could go on but it was hilarious, the guy couldnt ride, he obviously passed his test but surely being allowed to ride this bike after just passing on a GS500 is wrong, it is any wonder so many good guys are getting killed? What do you lot think? Im not passing judgement just giving my opinion....live life to the full but be prepared for it.....peace.
By the way he was 43 and as he said "I have other bikes including a 1800 cc suzuki interperooder" or summat like that...I think not but why try to bullshit and impress people this is what gets people dead on rideouts when they can talk the talk but cant walk the walk, dont even try just enjoy it at your own pace and leave the bullcrap at home, people will like you more for it, by the way I did 208 mph today down through Coleford high street

Hi

Been out with many a person that can't ride but try and pretend they can. I have had 2 Hayabusa's and I do know in the wrong hands they are lethal, as the brakes are poo, the older one dont handle that well and they are mental quick so you can over cook a corner with ease. I had a cbr600 as my first bike and it was a great choice. Your absoloutly right you gotta ride your own ride.

I aint been riding that long but have probably done more miles in that time than most   . It amazes me how many people cant ride properly, and put themselves in danger and dont even realize it. I see it far too often, quick in a straight line then poo themselves when they get to a corner.

I had 300mph out of my first busa     whilst doing a stoppie.

I would advise any new rider not to go over 600cc for their first bike. A busa is just pure stupidity eh

Those AP 50's were evil rip snorting mothers, we nicked one from school in the early 80's and tuned it up to 190bhp, you should have seen the burnouts on the 7cm rear tyre, 0-100 in 2.1 sec and such a Pussy puller.........then I woke up......got dressed and got the bus to school.........
