 Post subject: Brake pad help

Hoping someone may be able to help me out. Trying to fit new front pads but struggling a bit,and i was determined to do it myself. One caliper is done but need some help with the other.

Got a 200 mile journey to do on Monday so really dont want to chance dodgy brakes.

Dont like to ask as i really wanted to do it myself :oops:

hi janey, :) this should be an easy job to do, when changing pads i always push the pistons right back into the calipers , this is usually best done with the calipers un bolted from the forks and done carefully with a screwdriver or piece of wood, its best i would say if you push the pistons back whilst the old pads are in, using thm as a bigger area to push against. once the pistons are back fully new ones should be inserted and will then have a gap sufficient enough to clear the disc. 8-)

Hi

Give us a ring later if you have no joy and I will pop over. Dont forget also to take the fluid reservior top off when your pushing the pistons back in and keep an eye on the level make sure it down overflow.

hi,thanks for the offer of help but have booked it into pro tyre. problem with the back tyre also so will kill two birds with one stone.
