Well, that was a decent day out for the HARDCORE

amongst us!
RF to the rescue to help Rob get the bird out of the street.... not exercised like that for a while

On to the bunny where we met Dick Dastardly and then to the Little Chef for the area meet. There wasn't the numbers I was expecting but considering the weather I guess a low turnout was to be expected. We met Strongy's pillion for the day, Di there as well as Chris and we all set off to Good ole Brizzle town.
Thanks to some last minute shopping at the new Go Outdoors store last night, the cold only got to my pinkies and toes but it was nowhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be.

We got to Almondsbury before the heavens opened and gave everybody a scare. I thought that's it, we are going to get soaked then it's going to freeze - Great! Thankfully, it only lasted a few minutes so panic over and we made our way to the meet point in the dry.
That meet point was Bristol Downs which was bleak this morning. I guess over a hundred hardy souls were there and I met up with a couple of mates from the XJR Owners Club for a quick chat before we departed for a trip around Brizzle City centre and then on to the Childrens Hospice Southwest.
The hospice is set in some stunning scenery (allegedly as by the time we arrived in had started to rain again). However, a couple of mince pies and a cup of coffee soon made me feel better.
With the ceremony over we departed in the pouring rain with the idea of riding up the M5 home. However, I couldn't see a thing due to the visor repeatedly misting up and the rain pouring down. We joined the M5 Northbound and the spray limited vision further so I left everyone else and rode home on the A38. With the lower speeds and no spray on the A38 I felt much more comfortable.
I called into the local car wash / bike wash on the Bristol Road in Gloucester and got the salt off but it was a useless attempt really as by the time I had ridden the two (?) miles home it was all mucky again.
I can categorically say that my leathers are NOT waterproof as my nether region, feet and legs were soaked.
Happy days! I guess it's a must do again but next time it will be warmer and without rain forecast!
