I must be the unluckiest person I know. I've waited two years to get to the Eurofest (a meeting of XJR owners across Europe) which is being held this coming week in Zeewolde, Holland.

Since Thursday, I've been pretty poorly and whatever it is shows no immediate signs of going away. We sail tomorrow from Harwich to the Hook of Holland - a 6 hour 30 minute journey on seas they are forecast to be moderate to rough (and I get seasick just walking on the beach)! To top it all off we have rain forecast all week.... http://www.weeronline.nl/Europa/Nederla ... de/4058928

Today I face a 200 mile ride to Harwich around the M25. Deep joy!

Will someone come and rub shoulders with me so my damned luck improves?

If I survive, I'll see you next Sunday.

In the meantime, ride safe!

Sat in the Premier Inn in Harwich. Took about 3 hours to get here and apart from afew showers and a couple of slow sections on the M25 it all went swimmingly. I thought we were going to get wet heading towards London. The skies were black over the capital but as we turned left onto the M25 the skies cleared and we skirted the downpour.felt so much better once riding. Focusing on riding instead of how unwell I was worked a treat
Paracetomols are doing the biz and I actually feel a little better. Got to remember the seasick tabs tomorrow. Fingers crossed they work.

Looking forward tothe rub down already Pauline :D

Hope the airshow rideout went ok and low cloud didn't spoil the show.

Early start tomorrow. Brekky at 7. Catch ya later.

Glad to hear things are improving in both the health and weather departments. Go and have a great time, ride safe. While on the ship stay inside and away from windows, take your motion sickness tabs and keep busy. Then hopefully you'll be on the other side before you know it.

Looking forward to further updates if you not too busy having fun.

Started to post this a few hours ago on the iPhone but lost the connection.

Anyway, we're now sat on the ferry still in port, posting off of a system that reminds me of the old dial up days :D :D :D No broadband here!

Update..

Not a good night as these swollen glands make swallowing painful and I had already run out of paracetamols so I got up at 5am and went for a wander down to the port looking out for a garage that might be open so I could restock. The cool clean air worked a treat but nothing open so had a couple more hours of suffering until one of my travelling companions came up with some horse grade cocodemal at breakfast.

There's 9 of us in this group and another similar number on the "party boat" tonight. Our group is stopping in Gouda tonight.... looking forward to a nice bit of cheese! :D :D :D Tomorrow morning the party boat group will be meeting us at our hotel and then we'll ride up together to Zeewolde to meet the rest of the Brits who have taken different routes (Dover - Calais, Chunnel etc). Should be fun!

Started to get a few piccys taken so if anyone is interested I'll post those up when we get back.

Anyway, I'm full of meds - paracetamol, cocodamine and Qwells.... all I need now is a nice bit of cake and a coffe from Amsterdam! :D :D :D :D :D

Catch you later

LOL at Cosmic!

Well, we are almost at the Hook of Holland. The voyage has been OK but it is starting to get a litle rougher now. Only just made it with the seasick tabs. Phew!

Weather looks a little moist out there but it is only a 20 or 30 minute ride to Gouda.

Amazed at the number of ships that we have passed today. I never realised it was so busy. At one stage we counted 30 visible at the same time. I guess I know how a trainspotter feels. ROFL!

We have been busy trying to wind up a few friends who are coming on the party boat later saying that the seas are really rough with 65 knot winds expected ) they are not but itäs helped pass the time.

I think we are due to dock at around 1645 your time so I best get a move on. '

Catch ya later!

Back on the ferry sat in Hoek van Holland. Everyone is safe and sound and we're homeward bound. I'll post more crap later (just spent 30 minutes writing and the connection timed out). This satellite internet thing IS rubbish! Hey! ho!
